I'm super stoked to be doing a show with my great friend, and a true inspiration to me, Mark Matlock. Mark is one of those guys that is so amazingly talented in so many genre's, there is just nothing he really cannot do. He's self-taught and has done canvas and illustrative work for over 15 years. He's been in countless gallery shows across the US, as well as numerous magazines with his illustrative work. We have a lot of the same influences in early hip hop and street art, and I love hearing his numerous stories from his time in NYC and Chicago. Like me, he really seems to enjoy working on a large scale, so our pieces compliment each other well. Personally, he pushes me to become a better artist and challenges me to go outside my comfort zone. The show open on Friday, April 10th at 6pm at my home inside Lulubell Toy Bodega's gallery, and both Mark & I will be there hanging out. Stop by and check his amazing new works on handmade wood canvas'. Below are a sneak peek from both myself and Mark. I'll being doing prints of CREAM (shown below) as well as several other of my new canvas', and the originals will be up for grabs as well. It's all the Downtown Mesa Independent Music Fest that night - so it's a great night to come out! C.R.E.A.M. Aerosol & acrylic on canvas by Dski One (me), 2015. Gun Show. Mixed media on wood. Mark Matlock, 2015.
